A few friends helped me review the artistic expression of my previous AIGC videos, but aside from that, these were works I created independently. In the first half of this year, I felt the intense pull between being an independent creator and trying to form a team. I attempted to build a team, but a series of efforts all failed. Only now, at this very moment, am I willing to accept that I am an independent creator.

What’s so frightening about creating AIGC content alone? Perhaps I won’t be able to keep up with technological trends, scale my work, or run a company. Temporary technological advantages will quickly be overwhelmed by collective wisdom. These are all frightening, but compared to the original intention of embarking on the creative path, these fears are just fears.

Individuals can be hijacked by the torrents of the times, floating and sinking in the sea of the many. But now is the era of AIGC, and it promises exactly this: one person is an entire production team, one person completing the closed loop of creation. Individual power is infinitely amplified, and entirely new possibilities are being discovered.

Will we focus more on individual expression than the fear of fitting in? I am an INTJ, and I am the most independent individual. I am the one most unable to be disciplined by groups, most disgusted by herd mentality, and who experiences an uncanny valley effect even when trying to express extroverted emotions. So, what exactly am I afraid of?

Can one person not achieve victory?

Logically speaking, this is indeed the case. But I am equally fortunate—I have a universe to create. This is a unique science fiction universe—the Computational Universe. Even though too many people have told me they cannot appreciate it, I have brought it into the world. Once creation begins, there is no turning back.

In this era, worlds with strong worldviews are too vast, and not everyone is willing to read through them. However, creating a fictional world has a unique charm. To some extent, it’s a game of being a creator god, as profound as The Sims.

Returning to our theme, an independent creator in the AIGC era should strive to express everything previously impossible. In the past, for one person to make a science fiction film required substantial investment and strong industry connections, but now it only requires sufficient proficiency with AIGC tools. Each democratization of creative power brings entirely new forms of artistic expression.

Art is dependent on tools. For example, the materials humans can use for construction determine what forms buildings will take. Each time new materials appear, new architecture emerges. The same is true when people write books—from handwriting to printing to digitization, the content of books has undergone transformations.

Therefore, the emergence of AIGC will inevitably produce a new artistic movement. Some might think that Midjourney’s artistic style limits this expression, but it is equally variable and even contains parts humans cannot understand. Humans can no longer entirely control the creative process. In this type of creation, there is thinking that belongs to AIGC. For the first time in history, humans are no longer the protagonists.

Some will say that a world without humans is meaningless. Isn’t this the beginning of a new era? Perhaps because of the arrival of artificial intelligence, humans will discover they are not alone in the universe. Humans will realize that everyone can create and become part of the future.

I love AIGC because it is the ultimate combination of technology, art, and literature. It unleashes everyone’s creativity and allows imagination to soar even higher. Looking far ahead, humans theoretically cannot explore the universe without artificial intelligence because our bodies evolved according to Earth’s environment and are not adapted to cosmic conditions. Looking at the present, the breakthrough for improving current economic conditions may lie in AI.

This is not a terrifying scenario of history’s wheels rolling forward but a cyber renaissance in which everyone can participate. Based on my experience, because of AIGC, I no longer fear being an independent creator. I am a world by myself.
