On January 22, 2021, I wrote the first note related to the Computational Universe. Three years have passed. These three years could have been enough to complete “The Computational Universe,” but life constantly changes, and I struggled in the wrong direction. I have always wanted to launch Siyuan Technology but have never found a way. On May 23, 2025, I finally decided to retreat into creative seclusion to work on Computational Universe novels and AI videos.
The Computational Universe is computer science fiction, so using artificial intelligence technology as its visual representation is a kind of double entendre that can also showcase its mystery. When I first used Kling AI last year, I fell in love with AI video. It is the ultimate presentation of technology, art, and literature. I immediately became an AI video creator.
Although I’m not formally trained in film and television—I studied philosophy—after graduating from university, I worked as a programmer for over ten years. I have a love-hate relationship with computers. I initially always wanted to become a tech entrepreneur, using my technical skills to support a startup company. I pursued this for over ten years but still haven’t achieved results.
I sometimes doubt that I am not suited to lead a company, but my friends tell me it’s just not the right time yet. Someday, my life will take a different turn, perhaps through good fortune, perhaps as the result of years of effort—yes, I have never given up. I will never give up.
This is more than ten years of effort, not even worth tears in the rain.
The Computational Universe is the universe I will spend my lifetime building. For this, I naturally learned AI video production—to let more people see the Computational Universe, self-learning any discipline is not a problem. I am a female programmer, writer, and director.
As I mentioned, my life as a female programmer has ended—I no longer write code. But my life as a female writer has probably just begun. Starting from my first blog post in 2005, I have written over 3 million words of novels. I once wrote fan fiction about Batman’s second Robin Red Hood, “Red Hood: Ashes to Dust.” This honed my writing skills and gained readers who deeply loved the novel. Starting January 22, 2021, I transitioned to original science fiction.
As a science fiction author, an author should create one universe in their lifetime. Without making a universe, I wouldn’t write the Computational Universe. I once wanted to live in Tolkien’s Middle-earth; now, I want to explore every secret in the Computational Universe. Being a science fiction writer in China might be difficult, but for the sake of creating a universe, I’m willing to make every effort.
I want to write something that Chinese science fiction usually lacks—yes, original universes. Too many people have told me I can’t discuss grand narratives, write this, or write that. Even far-future science fiction is supposedly untouchable. But I have my own unique literary style, broad vision, and endless starry skies when I write. I believe the universe under my pen will ultimately come alive.
A world doesn’t exist at first, but when you write enough works, this world becomes vivid and lifelike. Some friends oppose my creation of fictional worlds because fictional worlds involve a large amount of newly invented settings. But this is precisely the hardcore aspect of fictional world science fiction. I can only first attract hardcore fans, then consider others. Although the Computational Universe is a fictional world, its people, events, and things will definitely feel familiar to you.
As for AI video creation, I will launch it together with Computational Universe short stories. I will publish short stories on the “Computational Universe” WeChat account and my personal website and release short films on “The Computational Universe” WeChat video account and YouTube. At the same time, I will continue writing full-length novels like “The Computational Universe” Octology, “Computational Wandering,” and “The Computational Era.” After the full-length novels are published in English on Amazon KDP, I’ll start producing a long AI series.
AI videos are not necessarily shoddy productions. I believe this is an unprecedented democratization of creation—a new era where everyone can become a film director. Therefore, I am in extreme pursuit of quality in my AI video works. From story to visual presentation, every aspect is carefully designed.
So, this is the third year of the Computational Universe. I’ve taken many detours and never devoted myself wholeheartedly to creation, resulting in extremely slow overall progress. I will eliminate distractions for 5 to 10 years and focus solely on creation. Some things may not yield results despite effort, but creation can at least leave something behind.
The Computational Universe is the last universe I will create.
